Dear golf enthusiasts and valued GFM viewers, contributors, and subscribers:

Whether you are visiting our website for the first time or a valued reader seeking information pertaining to your subscription to Golf Fitness Magazine, I must inform you of the unfortunate recent events involving the publication of GFM.

In January 2011, GFM entered into a publishing partnership with Madavor Media, a publisher that held itself out as an experienced publisher of specialty magazines. From the start, GFM’s staff worked intensely toward making this partnership a success for GFM’s readers and advertisers. GFM continued to grow, improve, and was doing extremely well as we fully integrated editorial and fulfillment operations with Madavor.

Unfortunately, immediately after the successful production of GFM’s August issue, Madavor abruptly (and without cause) terminated our partnership. This decision was shocking and had nothing to do with the merits or viability of GFM itself. Rather, in my opinion, because of the lack of dedication toward their obligations within this partnership, Madavor took this step to simply take for itself the valuable subscriber and advertising contacts of GFM. Madavor was able to do this because GFM had fully integrated its business operations with Madavor, including turning over subscriber and advertiser lists. Therefore, when Madavor undertook its unwarranted action, GFM was suddenly left without the resources to continue production of the magazine. GFM immediately worked vigorously toward finding a solution including seeking a new partner or investor in order to continue publishing, while having GFM’s attorneys demand the return of the databases. I have been left with no option other than to file a lawsuit against Madavor, but any resolution by such means will be months in achieving. And without access to GFM’s own tangible assets, all of my hopes of finding a suitable investor or partner are now lost.

For those of you seeking information and answers to the remaining value of your subscription, please be advised that GFM is working on solutions to honor your subscription. I have heard from many of you about your displeasure of Madavor’s unauthorized and unwelcome mailing of Fairways & Greens magazine to you in what I believe is an unethical attempt to acquire GFM’s readers. I am greatly disappointed, angered, and embarrassed with the blatantly unwarranted actions of Madavor, and many of you have expressed similar feelings to me. I appreciate the support you have conveyed for GFM and the type of service the staff of GFM and I have provided toward your golf game performance and health over the years.

It is with great sadness that I must report that these actions have forced GFM to cease operations and the publication of the magazine will not resume. Please stay posted to this website for future communication regarding the future of Golf Fitness Magazine and Golffitnessmagzine.com.
